The following questions are our most popular questions we get asked on a regular basis about internet connectivity, but if you have something you need to know, why not give us a call on 01782 608608 and we are happy to natter about how our phone system works and how easy it is to switch.
Internet connectivity such as FTTP Full-Fibre Broadband and FTTC Part-Fibre Broadband have a 1 year contract and after that, you will go onto a monthly rolling contract. Mobile SIM's don't have a contract if you are using them for connectivity via a router. Leased Lines do have a contract term and the length of the term affects the monthly price, so the contract length is a key part of the ordering process.
Depending on your local area, you may have either FTTP Full-Fibre Broadband, FTTC (SOGEA) Part-Fibre Broadband or both available to install. FTTP is Fibre to the Premises and has speeds as low as 80MB and up to 1000MB, many rural locations only have FTTP available. FTTP is a direct fibre optic connection from the exchange to the building. FTTC (SOGEA) is Fibre to the Cabinet. This has speeds of up to 80MB and the last part of the connection still runs on copper from the green box to the building, this is why is has slower speeds than FTTP.
Having resilience in your internet connectivity is more important than ever before as we are now so reliant on internet based systems. We can provide both a dedicated 4G or 5G solution, or you can have 4G failover. In this situation the router automatically detects the internet connection as not working, and starts to use the 4G connection instead. Our routers have a small SIM card slot which allows for this feature to work.
Leased Lines are more expensive than FTTP Broadband and FTTC Broadband, however they offer a symmetrical connection and an SLA. The symmetrical connection means that you get the same speed upload as download. E.g. 1000MB up and down, where as FTTC would be 80MB down and 20MB up. The SLA (Service Level Agreement) ensures that their is compensation if the service fails and specified response times should any downtime occur. This ensures that the connection is much more reliable.
You can use our checker to find out what FTTP Full-Fibre Broadband & FTTC Part-Fiber Broadband connectivity is available in your area, or you can use our leased line quoting tool to get a pricing for an installation based on your premises location. If you want to check for 4G/5G, then you can use Vodafone's Coverage Checker and 02 Coverage Checker to see which SIM would suit your location best, as we supply both of these networks.
You can use our checker to find out what FTTP Full-Fibre Broadband & FTTC Part-Fibre Broadband connectivity is available in your area and it will show you the connection speeds available for you. FTTP Broadband is the fastest connection, with a maximum speed of 1000MB download, but only a limited number of locations in the UK have full fibre connectivity.
