Troubleshooting Webex Missed Calls on Mobile Phones

If you are having issues with Webex on a mobile phone, such as missed calls, here are some things you can try.

All Platforms

You must be logged in to the App for the TelephoneSystems.cloud phone service to work.

The app needs all the permissions it asks for to work (access to internet, access to contacts, microphone, notifications etc etc). The app will typically ask for these when it is run for the first time. Consequently, the best way to ensure the app has all the permissions it needs is to uninstall the app, restart phone, then re-install the app again. Run it and approve every permission it asks for.

Webex on Android Phone

Your phone may vary slightly from the instructions below, all Android phones are slightly different.

1. Remove App from Power Saving (Samsung, Pixel):

Go to settings -> Apps -> (3 dot menu) -> Special Access -> Optimise Battery Usage.
Select "All apps" from the drop-down. Scroll down to Webex and turn the switch off.
1b. Similar setting on other Android phones:
Go to settings -> App Management. Scroll down to Webex and tap it
Under Power Saver, tap "Allowing Running in the Background"

2. Prevent WiFi from turning off while phone sleeping:

Go to settings -> Connections -> WiFi -> Advanced -> Change "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" drop-down to "Always"
(on older android versions this is a checkbox labelled "keep WiFi on when screen times out")

3. Ensure Do Not Disturb is off:

Go to settings -> Sounds and vibration
Scroll down to "Do not disturb" and tap it
Verify that Do not disturb is not enabled, and that its not scheduled to be enabled at any time you want the app to receive calls.

4. Ensure Notifications are Enabled:

Go to settings -> Notifications -> Advanced
Scroll down the list of apps, find Webex and tap on it
"Allow Notifications" should be on
"Show silently" should be off
"On lock screen" should be set to "Show content"
The last option “Set as priority” will allow the app to ring even if Do Not Disturb is enabled, it can be left off, or enabled if that is your preference.

5. Check app permissions

Go to settings -> Apps -> Webex
Scroll down a bit to Permissions and tap it
Ensure everything is turned on - Camera, Contacts, Microphone, Storage, Telephone

6. Other Apps

If you are running a "Battery Saver" or similar app, disable it or add Webex to the list of exceptions.

7. Try turning off VoLTE

If present, this setting is usually under Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks

8. Phones with "Autostart" feature, (e.g. Xaomi)

Open the Security App. Go to Permissions->Autostart
Under "XX apps aren't allowed to autostart" find Webex and turn the switch on.

Webex on iPhone

1. Ensure Do Not Disturb is OFF

Go to iPhone Settings > Do Not Disturb. It should be off

2. Enable Notifications

iPhone Settings > Notifications > Webex.
Ensure everything is turned ON
- Allow Notifications
- Show in Notification Center
- Sounds
- Badge App icon
- Show on Lock Screen

3. Battery Saving

Under Settings > Battery, ensure low power mode is turned OFF.

4. Try turning off VoLTE

Settings, Mobile Data, Mobile Data Options, Press Voice & Data.
Press the indicator next to "VoLTE" to turn the function on or off

5. Turn off Attention Aware Features

The existence of this setting will depend on your mobile phone carrier
Settings - Accessibility - Face ID & Attention - Turn off Attention Aware Features
